Bonefish Pond National Park
Coastal wetland, tidal mangroves, creeks, and shallow lagoons great for walking/swimming/snorkeling!
Service Description
Bonefish Pond National Park is a protected coastal wetland on the southern side of New Providence near Nassau in the Bahamas, protecting 1,235 acres of tidal mangroves, creeks, and shallow lagoons. Established in 2002 and overseen by the Bahamas National Trust, the park functions as an important nursery for bonefish and other commercially and ecologically significant marine species and supports more than 50 species of wetland and shorebirds. A 600-foot boardwalk leads into the mangroves for birdwatching and wildlife viewing, while at high tide visitors may kayak or snorkel through the creeks and at low tide wading birds concentrate on exposed flats.
